You Can't Quarantine Fun!
As we all have seen over the past three months, COVID-19 has dramatically changed the world as we know it. Tensions are high, people are worried, and everyone is doing their best to enjoy their lives and keep things as "normal" as possible while still adhering to the ever-evolving recommendations and guidelines from federal, state, and local governments. We still have a long road ahead of us as we journey towards a post-COVID-19 world, so it's important to focus on activities that can bring a semblance of normalcy back to our lives - such as hitting the trails! Here are some tips to help keep you and your loved ones safe while you're out getting some Wind Therapy.
Helmets, Gloves, & Gear
While protective gear like helmets and gloves are always a great idea, they can serve a secondary purpose during these uncertain times. Helmets can help cover your face, which not only helps minimize the number of times you may touch your face, but can help contain and block droplets from talking or coughing. While coronavirus may not spread as easily on surfaces as we once thought, keeping your gloves on - especially when you venture into a public space like a store or gas station - still isn't a bad idea. Don't forget to clean your gear when you're done! Washing your hands is still important, but remembering to clean your helmet (along with the goggles or visor), gloves, phone, and any tools or equipment you may have used along the way is still a good idea.
Don't forget to wash your ride, too. If it was a good day on the trails, it'll probably need it anyway!
Social Distancing Done Right
It may be tempting to gather together with your friends after a day on the trails, but maintaining some space may still be a good idea. While restrictions on gatherings are slowly relaxing, social distancing is still going to be one of our best tools to helping curb the spread of coronavirus. If you're riding with friends or family, keep your groups small, and limit contact with people outside of your immediate group as much as possible. You can still be friendly and cordial, but don't forget to keep your distance!
Bring A Lunch
If you're social distancing in the great outdoors, you'll probably get a little hungry at some point during the trip. Staying hydrated and eating healthy are two good ways to help support your immune system, and keep everything functioning as normal. Don't forget to bring some hand sanitizer along, as well!
If You're Sick, Stay Home
Most importantly, if you're not feeling well...stay home. Staying cooped up may not be the most appealing or entertaining option, but inadvertently getting someone else sick isn't something any of us want to do. If you feel sick, do your part: Stay Home.
Have fun, stay safe, and do your part. We're weathering this storm together, and we'll get through it before we know it! Now, go outside and get some Wind Therapy!
